Tootsie Roll Pop Art

While eating a Tootsie Roll Pop, I found myself examining the nostalgic art on the wrapper. So, what did I do? I Googled "Tootsie Roll Pop wrapper art". And, what did I find? This amazing piece by Dan Duff. It is so playful and I immediately envisioned it being used in a classroom.

Question: Do you think it would be inappropriate to use pop art as classroom decor? Would the ages of the children make a difference? Personally, I say do it. I have seen teachers expose preschoolers to the art of Andy Warhol. Pop art is still art, even if there is an element of branding. Brand labels are frequently used in early childhood dramatic play centers. Sometimes, the whole center focuses around a particular company, like Starbucks or McDonald's. What would make this any different? Additionally, wouldn't it be fabulous if you had the children construct their own version of this piece, then hang the finished collaborative artwork in the classroom?
